Learn Argentine Tango Now

What is and what isn’t Argentine tango?

Sorin & Soobin @ Uke in NYCIt’s a social dance, like salsa or swing. People go to venues where tango music is being played and dance tango in pairs, generally a man and a woman, although it is not unusual anymore to see women dance with women and men dance with men. The events are called milongas. Click here to see images from milongas in or near Boston. Unlike ballroom (where sequences of moves are learned by both partners), it’s an improvised dance where the man (mostly) leads and the woman (mostly) follows.

Most of what you see on TV and/or  in various live dance shows, even when it’s called Argentine tango, is really not Argentine tango.  To make it easier to see what I am promoting and teaching, see this page with video examples.
